Use an inbound webhook. Your third-party service sends an HTTP POST request to Pushwoosh, and Pushwoosh identifies the user and applies your mapping: fill in tags on the user profile, fire a Pushwoosh event, or both. A fired event can start or advance a journey. You'll need help from your development team to connect the service.
- Go to Settings → Integrations → Inbound webhooks and click Settings, then Create webhook.
- In Paste a sample payload, paste a sample JSON payload from your service.
- In Identify users by, choose User ID, Email, Phone, HWID, or Token, and select the matching Payload field. Optionally, turn on the checkbox to create a new user when no match is found (not available for HWID and Token).
- Map payload fields in Add tags to profile, Record an event, or both. Each webhook must map at least one tag or fire one event.
- Click Enable webhook. Copy the URL into your service as the webhook destination, and the Secret as the
Authorizationheader value (it already includes theBearerprefix). - In Journey Builder, use the mapped event as a trigger-based journey entry. The journey starts automatically for the matched user whenever the webhook receives a valid request.
To check incoming requests, open Activity log from the webhook's row menu. It shows Total hits, Warning, and Failed requests for the last 24 hours.
