Yes. An inbound webhook can save payload values as tags on the user profile, fire a Pushwoosh event, or both. This is useful when you move customer data from a CRM or another tool and need fields like plan tier or city on the profile for segmentation.
To set it up, go to Settings → Integrations → Inbound webhooks, click Settings, then Create webhook and paste a sample JSON payload.
Map tags:
- Under Add tags to profile, click + Add tag.
- In Tag name, pick an existing tag or type a new name (Pushwoosh shows Create:
<name>). For a new tag, choose its data type in Type; it's saved as a user-specific tag. - In Payload field, select the field that holds the value.
Create unknown users: after choosing Identify users by and its Payload field, turn on the checkbox below it, for example Create a new User ID if no match is found or Create a new Email if no match is found. Pushwoosh then creates the user instead of dropping the request. The checkbox is disabled for HWID and Token, because those identifiers can't be created ahead of an actual SDK session.
Each webhook must map at least one tag, fire one event, or both. When you're done, click Enable webhook and share the URL and Secret with your development team.
