Install the Pushwoosh for WooCommerce plugin. It sends store data to Pushwoosh in the background: customers become email (and SMS) contacts, orders and abandoned carts become events you can start journeys from, and your storefront gets web push with a subscribe bell.
Requirements: WordPress 6.4+, WooCommerce 8.2+, PHP 8.1+, administrator access, and an HTTPS site for web push. You'll likely need help from your developer.
Prepare Pushwoosh first:
- In Settings → API Access, create two Device API tokens: one for the server, one for the storefront.
- Create the custom events
PW_OrderCreated,PW_OrderUpdated,PW_OrderCanceled,PW_AbandonedCart, andPW_AbandonedCartUpdatewith the attribute types listed in the guide. Otherwise, Pushwoosh guesses the types and can guess wrong. - Create the
firstName,lastName, andacceptsMarketingtags.
Install and connect:
- In WordPress, go to Plugins → Add New Plugin, search for Pushwoosh for WooCommerce, click Install Now, then Activate.
- Go to WooCommerce → Settings → Pushwoosh, enter the Application code, Device API token, and Web SDK token.
- Click Save changes, then Check connection.
The user ID in Pushwoosh is the customer's email in lowercase, so contacts, events, and web push subscribers of one customer land on the same user. On low-traffic stores, events can arrive late because WP-Cron runs only on visits.
