Use the Audience sync point in Journey Builder. Each time a user reaches it, Pushwoosh asks Google to add them to a Customer Match audience or remove them from it. For example, remove users who already purchased so you stop paying to show them an ad.
Before you start:
- You need the Admin role in Pushwoosh, and Customer Match must be enabled on your Google Ads account.
- Connect Google Ads in Settings > 3rd party integrations. Choose the client ad account, not only the manager (MCC) account, and leave the Data Manager permission on.
- Create the audience first: on the Google Ads page, open Customer Match audiences and click Create audience. Pushwoosh doesn't create one automatically.
To set up the step:
- Add the Audience sync point to the journey.
- Under How to sync users info to the ad audience, pick Add users to audience or Remove users from audience.
- In AD PLATFORM, choose Google Ads, then select the Google Ads account and Audience.
- Click Apply and launch the journey.
Things to know:
- Google matches users only by email, phone, or mobile advertising ID (MADID). Users with none of these are skipped and continue the journey.
- Audience size can stay 0 for up to 48 hours while Google matches users.
- Google doesn't use an audience for targeting until it has about 1,000 matched users.
