In a Condition split, each branch can compare against another field instead of a fixed value. Next to the branch value field, choose a comparison mode:
| Mode | What it compares against |
|---|---|
| Value | A fixed value, the same for every user |
| Tag | Another tag on the same user's profile (only compatible types are listed) |
| Event attribute | An attribute of an event from earlier in this journey (select the event, then the attribute) |
Example: after an abandoned cart, check whether the cart already qualifies for free shipping.
- Select Event as the condition type.
- In Event from Journey, choose
PW_AbandonedCart, and under Attribute selecttotalPrice. - Set the condition to greater or equals.
- For the branch value, choose Tag, then select
Free_shipping_threshold.
Users whose cart total covers their own threshold follow this branch. Everyone else goes to All other users.
Things to know:
- Dynamic comparison works with
isandis not(any type except LIST),greater or equalsandless or equals(INTEGER, DECIMAL, DATE), andis one of/is not one of(LIST). - If the tag or attribute you compare against is empty for a user, the branch doesn't match them.
- For dates, you can only check whether one date equals another.
