Use feature flags (beta). A flag is an on/off switch for a feature in your app or website that you flip in the Control Panel.
Create a flag:
- Go to Audience → Feature Flags and click Create feature flag.
- Enter the Key, for example
new_checkout. Your developers read the flag by this exact key, and it can't be changed later. - Optionally add Properties, such as a button color, with a Default value.
- Add Rules: each has a Segment (empty means all users), a Rollout, %, and optional property values. The first rule a device matches decides.
- Click Save.
To roll out gradually, raise Rollout, % step by step; users who already have the flag keep it. If something goes wrong, click Kill switch to turn the flag off for everyone.
Before you start:
- Each application can have one flag that isn't archived. Contact your account manager to run more.
- Developers need Web SDK 3.94.1, Android SDK 6.16.0, or iOS SDK 7.2.10 or later and must read the flag in code.
- Creating and changing flags requires the Modify applications permission.
See who saw the feature: in the segment builder, the Feature flag condition with saw the feature (30 days) finds devices that reached the flagged feature. It works only if the app logs impressions.
