Yes. In a journey, the Live Activity element can start, update, or end the iOS lock-screen card and the Android 16 Live Update notification from the same step.
To send to Android as well:
- Open the Live Activity element and choose the Action: Start, Update, or End.
- Under Platforms, turn on iOS Live Activity, Android Live Updates, or both. On Update and End, the platforms come from the linked Start element and can't be changed.
- In the Android section, set Notification title for every language you fill in, and Notification text. On Start and Update, the journey can't run until each of those languages has a title.
- Optionally set up the progress bar (Progress, Segments) and the header time (Header time, Header time after, min, or a running timer).
The Android notification uses the same Card language as the iOS card, and its fields can carry placeholders, like the iOS card content.
Before you start, check the requirements:
- Your Android app needs SDK 6.11+ and the
pushwoosh-liveupdatesmodule. No schema is needed for Android. - On Android 15 or earlier, or in an app without the module, Pushwoosh still sends the update, but nothing appears on the device and no regular push is shown instead.
- Huawei and Baidu devices don't get Android Live Updates. Updates go only to devices registered through Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM).
Tapping the notification opens the app, the same as a regular push.
