Add a sum to an event condition. A sum compares the total of a numeric event attribute across matching events, not the value of a single event.
- In the segment builder, add an event condition (for example
Purchase) with its frequency and time frame. - Click + Sum. It appears only when the event has at least one integer or decimal (price) attribute.
- Choose the attribute, an operator, and a threshold.
Example: Purchase at least once during the last 90 days, with sum of amount greater or equals 100, finds users who spent 100 or more in that window, in one purchase or several.
Operators for sums: is, is not, greater or equals, less or equals, between.
How the sum is calculated:
- Only events that match the condition's frequency, time frame, and attribute filters count. For example, you can sum
amountonly wherecategory is "shoes". - A matching event without the attribute counts as
0. Negative values subtract, so track refunds with the same event and a negative amount. - Users with no matching events don't pass the sum. To target non-buyers, set the event to never without a sum.
- Event data is stored for one year by default, so a sum can't cover a longer period or show lifetime spending.
You can add several sums; a user must pass all of them.
