Sending a standard broadcast push notification to a very large audience, such as millions of devices, can take a considerable amount of time to complete. This is normal behavior: before each send the target audience has to be recalculated, and the system then processes the sends at a standard rate.
To significantly decrease the sending time for these large campaigns, you should use a high-speed delivery segment.
What is a high-speed delivery segment?
It is an optimized audience segment that is pre-calculated and refreshed every 10 minutes. Because the audience is already computed when you press Send, Pushwoosh does not need to run a real-time segment recalculation, which removes most of the latency from large send-outs. This is especially useful for databases exceeding 1 million users and for time-sensitive notifications.
How do I use it?
If a high-speed delivery segment has already been configured for your account, select it as the audience when setting up your push notification campaign. If you do not have one, or you are unsure, contact Pushwoosh Support — we can set up a high-speed delivery segment covering your entire user base for you.
Note: in the Control Panel this entity lives under Audience → Segments. The older name "Filter" is no longer used in the interface.
