When a user deletes and then reinstalls an application, the following generally occurs:
- New ID Generation: A new HWID and a new push token are generated for the reinstalled app. The device is treated as a new device in the system.
- Exception: The HWID will not change if other apps with the Pushwoosh SDK are still present on the device (for Android) or if another app from the same vendor remains installed (for iOS).
- Event History: A user's event history is stored for up to one year. If you use a
UserIDto identify your users, their past event history can be retained. Once the user logs in on the reinstalled app and the sameUserIDis associated with their new device profile (HWID), the historical data will be linked to them again.
