Pushwoosh tracks notification opens automatically and reports them as the open rate, also referred to as Click-Through Rate (CTR). No additional custom events are needed.
Where to find it
- One-time messages: go to Campaigns → One-time messages and click the message to open its statistics.
- Messages inside a Journey: open the Journey canvas, select the Push element and click Detailed statistics. You can also hover a message on the canvas, or switch on the Show Metrics toggle, to see Opened and CTR inline.
Metrics on the Performance tab
- SENT — the total number of push notifications sent.
- DELIVERED UNIQUE — the number of unique recipients who successfully received the notification.
- OPENED — the number and percentage of delivered unique notifications that were opened.
- ERRORS — the number and percentage of messages that failed to deliver, broken down by platform and error type.
- Frequency capping — Suppressions (messages not sent because the recipient hit their frequency cap) and Affected users.
How the open rate is calculated
Push CTR (%) = (Opened / Recipients) × 100, where Recipients are the users who have your app installed, hold a valid push token in Pushwoosh and have allowed push notifications. It is not calculated against the raw SENT number.
The Performance tab also offers a platform breakdown (Total, iOS, Android, Xiaomi, Baidu and so on) and a trend graph. Two further tabs are available: Segment insights for per-segment performance, and Events for interactions triggered by the notification.
