Pushwoosh pauses email sending in a project when a bounce rate over your plan's limit period (14 days by default) exceeds its limit. The bounce spike warning gives you time to react before that happens.
Pushwoosh checks emails sent from your account in the last 24 hours. You get a warning when at least 1,000 emails were sent and either:
- hard bounces reach half of your plan's hard bounce limit (for example 2.5% with a 5% limit), or
- soft bounces reach 45% of emails sent (half of the 90% soft bounce limit).
The warning appears in the Notification center, and the account owner may also get it by email. It shows the last-24-hour bounce rates and how close your limit-period rates are to the limits. Pushwoosh sends at most one warning every 72 hours.
Complaints and spam-related bounces don't trigger this warning, so sending can be paused for those reasons without a warning first.
When you get the warning:
- Open Email statistics and find the recent sends with the most bounces.
- Remove outdated, invalid, and misspelled addresses from those audiences, especially recently imported lists.
- Contact Pushwoosh Support if you can't find the cause.
