You can enter any email address under your verified domain. The system verifies the domain itself through DKIM, SPF, and DMARC, but it does not check if the specific mailbox exists.
Even though the system accepts non-existent addresses, you should use a real, monitored mailbox like hello@ or support@.
If you use a fake address, you will run into several issues:
- Direct replies from your recipients will go to that address unless you set up a separate reply-to address.
- Out-of-office notifications and bounce messages will go to that address and you will not see them.
- Email providers may flag your emails as spam, which hurts your delivery rates. Using noreply@ or other non-existent addresses often causes this.
