To show an in-app message as a banner at the top or bottom of the screen instead of a full-screen takeover, you no longer need custom HTML. Set the position in the built-in in-app editor.
Recommended: position the in-app in the built-in editor
- Go to Content → In-apps (Rich media) and open or create a template in the built-in editor.
- Click In-app settings in the top bar.
- Set Position on Screen to Top or Bottom (the other options are Fullscreen and Center).
- Optionally set Present Animation / Close Animation (None, Fade, Left, Right, Up, Down, or Default) and Animation Duration (100–3000 ms).
- Enable Swipe to Close in the directions you want, and configure Show close button (position, background, icon colour).
- Keep the template short — design it at banner height so it does not fill the screen.
Note: these in-app settings apply to iOS and Android Native only. Currently None and Fade animations work on Android; on iOS the message appears and disappears instantly.
Alternative: Modal Rich Media
If you want a popup/dialog presented over the current screen with the background dimmed rather than a full-screen page, use Modal Rich Media. This requires a one-time setup by your development team:

- iOS: Modal Rich Media guide
You can also upload a custom HTML ZIP template if you need complete control over markup; see the Rich Media templates syntax and Rich Media customization guides.
