This happens when the segment you used for your email campaign has the option to include all of a user's devices turned on.
When this setting is active, the system creates delivery records for every registered device tied to each user in that segment. This includes mobile push tokens for iOS or Android. However, the system only sends actual messages as emails.
You can confirm this by looking at the statistics for the non-email platforms. They will show zero delivered messages and zero opens, which means no push notifications went out.
How to stop other platforms from showing in email statistics
To limit your campaign statistics to email platforms, turn off this setting in your segment:
- Open your segment settings.
- Find the option to include all of a user's devices.
- Uncheck this box and save your changes.
After you turn this off, future campaign statistics will only count the devices and communication channels that match your segment criteria.
