Why is my SPF record status still 'unverified' after I added the correct TXT record?

After you add or update an SPF TXT record in your domain's DNS settings, it takes some time before the change is visible to everyone on the internet. This delay is called DNS propagation, and it is why our checker may not see a record that an external DNS lookup tool already returns.

How long it should take

• Verification usually completes in 5 to 10 minutes.
• In some cases — typically a high TTL on the old record, or a slow DNS provider — it can take up to 24 hours.
• Only in rare cases does full worldwide DNS propagation stretch to 48 hours.

If it is still 'unverified'

If the status has not changed after a few hours, do not just keep waiting — re-check the record itself:

• Confirm the record was added to the exact host/subdomain Pushwoosh asked for, not to the root domain by mistake.
• Confirm the record type is TXT and the value was pasted without extra quotes, spaces or line breaks.
• Make sure you have one single SPF record for the domain. Multiple v=spf1 TXT records on the same host make SPF invalid — merge the Pushwoosh include into your existing record instead of adding a second one.
• Verify with an external lookup (for example dig TXT yourdomain.com) that the published value matches what Pushwoosh expects.

If the record is correct and published and the status is still 'unverified' after 24 hours, contact our support team with the domain name.
