How do I test messages before sending them to my subscribers?

Use Test devices to preview push notifications, emails, and SMS on your own devices before sending them to your audience. Test devices are configured per application.

Step 1. Register a test device

Go to Settings → Test Devices and click Create test device, then choose:

• Push — register a mobile or web device by scanning a QR code, from the app (turn on Add test devices from the app, then send the app to the background and back 6 times within 30 seconds), or manually by its HWID;
• Email — add an email address and confirm it with the verification code;
• SMS — add a phone number in E.164 format (for example, +1234567890).

Step 2. Send a test

• Push: open the push content in Content → Push Presets and click Test push notification. The push goes only to your test devices.
• Email: in the email editor, click Test email. You can add sample values for dynamic content.
• Journeys: create a test segment that contains only your devices and use it in an Audience-based entry.

If Test push notification is missing, content approval may be enabled for your account; in that case the button is hidden.
