Web push subscriptions are controlled by the browser, not by Pushwoosh, so a user unsubscribes by revoking the notification permission for your site.
Google Chrome (desktop)
- Open the site and click the icon to the left of the address bar (the sliders / "tune" icon; older versions show a padlock).
- Open Site settings.
- Set Notifications to Block, or choose Reset permission to go back to "Ask (default)".
You can also manage all sites at once in Settings → Privacy and security → Site settings → Notifications.
Chrome on Android
Open the site, tap the icon left of the address bar → Permissions → Notifications → turn off. Alternatively, long-press the notification itself and use the OS notification settings.
Mozilla Firefox
- Click the icon to the left of the address bar and remove the Send Notifications permission (click the "x" / Clear next to it).
- Or go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Permissions → Notifications → Settings and remove or block the site.
Safari (macOS)
- macOS Ventura and later: Safari → Settings → Websites → Notifications, then set the site to Deny or remove it.
- macOS Monterey and earlier: the same list lives under Safari → Preferences → Websites → Notifications.
Safari / Chrome on iOS and iPadOS
Web push requires the site to be added to the Home Screen. Remove the notification permission in Settings → Notifications for that web app, or delete the Home Screen icon.
Please note: you may need to reload the page for the change to take effect. Revoking the permission in the browser stops notifications immediately, but the subscriber may still be listed in Pushwoosh until the next unsuccessful delivery marks the token as invalid.
