A "FAIL" status in your message history (Campaigns → One-time messages) indicates that the notification could not be processed and sent from our system at the scheduled time. Fail is a final status: the message is not retried automatically, so it has to be created and sent again.
The most common causes are:
- The message’s segment or filter could not be compiled — the targeting expression is invalid, so no audience could be built.
- Email-specific problems — the email preset points to a subscription category that is not valid any more, or the account’s email sending limit was already exhausted at send time. In these cases a warning banner about the message also appears in the Control Panel.
- A temporary internal processing error on the Pushwoosh side, for example when the message could not be queued for publishing.
If the cause is not obvious, please contact our support team and provide the Message ID or Message Code for the affected notification. This will allow us to investigate the specific cause of the failure.
