You may see a different audience number on your list of projects than the one shown inside a project’s statistics. In most cases this is not a bug — the two numbers are produced differently.
- Project list count — a grand total of subscribed users/devices for the project across all active platforms (iOS, Android, Web push, Email, and so on).
- Project statistics (Statistics → Project statistics) — by default the General Info section also shows the audience across all platforms, but it can be narrowed with the platform drop-down in the top-right corner. If a subset of platforms is selected, both General Info and Detailed Statistics show only those platforms.
Common reasons for a mismatch
- A platform filter is applied. Check the platform drop-down on the Project statistics page and make sure all platforms are selected.
- Different time points. General Info metrics show the previous day’s data with a dynamics bar comparing it to the day before, while the project list shows the current total.
- Different metrics. Subscribed users counts devices that have a push token or a registered email — i.e. everyone you can reach. Recipients counts only devices with push alerts actually enabled, so it is always lower. On the Project overview page, Unique users is different again: it counts registered user identities (UserIDs), not devices.
- Custom dashboards. Charts you build under Statistics → Dashboards show only the metrics, filters and breakdowns chosen for them, so they are not expected to match a cross-platform project total.
If the numbers still look inconsistent after checking the above, contact Pushwoosh support with the project name and a screenshot of both views.
