To test push notifications, you need to add your device's Hardware ID (HWID) to the Test Devices list in your Pushwoosh Control Panel. The HWID is a unique identifier that the Pushwoosh SDK assigns to your app on a specific device.
Important:
* The HWID is specific to your application. You cannot use the HWID from our Demo App for testing.
* The HWID is different from Apple's UDID (Unique Device Identifier).
To find your device's HWID, you need to check the console logs of your device when your app launches.
Steps to find your HWID:
- Connect your iOS device to a computer (a Mac with Xcode, or a PC with a console log utility).
- Open the console viewing tool on your computer.
- Completely close your app on the iOS device (i.e., kill the app from the app switcher).
- Relaunch your app on the device.
- In the console logs on your computer, search for the
/registerDeviceAPI call. This call is made by the Pushwoosh SDK upon launch. - The log for this call will contain the
hwidparameter and its value. The value is the HWID you need. - Copy the HWID and add it to the Settings > Test Devices section in your Pushwoosh Control Panel.
Once added, you can send test push notifications directly to that device to verify your setup.
