On March 31, 2021, Google posted an announcement concerning the Developer Privacy Policy. New regulations enact stricter control over apps’ usage of personal data. The Package Visibility policy was updated among others, so all the apps published in Play Store must not query any data about apps and packages installed on users’ devices.
As an Android app owner, you may receive (or may have already received) a notice from Google claiming that your app doesn’t comply with the updated policies and may be unpublished from Play Store.
Not to get unpublished, SDKs integrated into your app (including the Pushwoosh SDK) should not contain any methods querying apps and packages from your app users’ devices.
To comply with the updated policies:
* First, update the Pushwoosh SDK to the latest version (6.2.5 is the required minimum).
* Then, check out for the step-by-step guide on how to provide full compliance.
