Why don't Android devices receive push notifications in Doze (power saving) mode?

In Doze mode, Android defers normal-priority FCM messages until the device wakes up. To deliver a notification immediately while the device is idle, send it with high delivery priority. See FCM message priority.

In the Control Panel

1. Open the push content (Content → Push Presets, or the content step when composing a push).
2. Click Notification settings under the preview and switch to the Android tab (or Huawei for HMS devices).
3. Set Delivery priority to High.

Via API

In the Messaging API v2, set "delivery_priority": "HIGH" in the android (or huawei_android) block. In the legacy /createMessage method (deprecated), use "android_delivery_priority": "high" (huawei_android_delivery_priority for Huawei).

Good to know

• Use high priority for time-sensitive, user-visible notifications. FCM may lower the priority of high-priority messages that don't result in a visible notification.
• Delivery priority is different from User-visible importance level, which controls how the notification appears (sound, heads-up) once delivered.
• Battery optimization settings of some device manufacturers can still delay or block notifications for apps the user hasn't exempted.
