The Pushwoosh plugin for Phonegap requires android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE.

Can I safely disable this permission? I am not using (custom) notification sounds.
And also, does it really need full read/write access to the external storage? Seems like a bit much. I can imagine users becoming concerned about app permissions when they see this in the play store:
